More than 80 years ago, Dr. Henry J. Dauterive had a vision to bring high quality healthcare to the citizens of Iberia Parish.He worked diligently with a small staff of nurses and medical personnel to open Dauterive Hospital, the area’s first hospital, on Duperior Avenue.

Today, Dauterive Hospital is a progressive 103-bed, acute care facility located at 600 N. Lewis Avenue.Comprehensive services include The Rehabilitation Center, state-of-the-art cath lab and Cardiovascular Center, The BirthPlace Obstetrical services, Emergency Department, Surgical Services, Pathways Psychiatric Unit and Outpatient Services.

The hospital currently holds national certification by OSHA for maintaining an outstanding health and safety program.
